Data Collection for the National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) – August 2026

August 21, 2026 | BPS Activities

The Rote Ndao Regency Statistics Indonesia (BPS) office is currently conducting data collection for the August 2026 National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas). This activity takes place from August 8 to August 27, 2026, and is carried out by official BPS personnel deployed across the Rote Ndao Regency area.

Sakernas is a national-scale labor force survey conducted regularly twice a year, in February and August. The survey is specifically designed to gather information on labor conditions in Indonesia. Through Sakernas, various key indicators are obtained—such as the number of employed persons, the number of unemployed persons, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT), and an overview of formal and informal employment. This data is crucial for planning, evaluation, and as a basis for development policy-making at both national and regional levels.

Data collection for the August 2026 Sakernas is conducted using the CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) method via the FASIH application on the officers' mobile devices. This approach makes the data collection process faster, more accurate, and more efficient, while also ensuring the confidentiality of information provided by respondents, in accordance with Law Number 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics.
